Sultécnica, committed to sustainability and to the fight against climate change, presents its public declaration on the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for the 2023–2031 period
GHG EMISSIONS REDUCTION TARGETS DECLARATION AND SBTi COMMITMENT
Through this document, Sultécnica publicly formalizes its strategic commitment to corporate climate action and to the reduction of its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Ensuring operational alignment with climate science and meeting the rigorous demands of the global value chain, the organization has set its targets in accordance with the guidelines of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), designed to limit global warming to the critical threshold of 1.5 °C.
NEAR-TERM SCIENCE-BASED TARGETS
Sultécnica commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% by the target year of 2031, from a 2023 base year. This target represents a maximum ceiling of 34.80 tCO₂e in 2031.
SCOPE 3 COMMITMENT AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Value Chain (Scope 3): Recognizing the importance of systemic decarbonization, Sultécnica establishes the formal commitment to structure the collection and tracking of its indirect Scope 3 emissions, focusing on the upstream transportation of inputs and on the management of operational solid waste. Additionally, it assumes the qualitative commitment to encourage 100% of its critical suppliers of raw materials and carbon-intensive inputs (steel and outsourced heat treatment) to implement their own GHG inventories.
Sultécnica has established its complete corporate GHG inventory for the 2023 base year, in accordance with the specifications of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program and under the Operational Control approach (CNPJ 92.133.560/0001-32), which will serve as the absolute historical benchmark for monitoring and reporting its carbon performance.
Transparency and Disclosure: Sultécnica commits to conducting annual emissions inventories, formally assessing progress against the established science-based targets, and to publicly disclosing the results in a transparent manner on its corporate website, fostering corporate credibility on the EcoVadis platform.
